Post Olympics Depression Disorder

Well - what did take over the UK in the past couple of weeks? Olympic Fever! I am normally someone to turn off, or over, when sport appears on TV. The only part of the Beijing Olympics I watched was actually the Opening Ceremony, as I knew there would be a Yoga demonstration and I loved the larger than life model with the Chakras beaming out to the world :-)

So what came over me and the rest of Great Britain in 2012? Pride in our country? our culture? our Amazing Olympian athletes? I was hooked from the moment the Opening Ceremony began! I loved sharing the ups and downs and success and failures of Team GB, and greatly admired their tenacity, determination, motivation, attitude - exemplary!

Team GB have inspired us, brought the reserved British public out of their shells, encouraged them to express long held in emotions, joined people back together into Community that has long been missing from our world, and uplifted us all en masse :-)
Its not surprising we all felt bereft and empty when the games drew to a close :-(

No wonder a new phrase, a new mental health condition has been coined - Post Olympic Depression disorder - thats how we all feel now :-(

I want to say a big Thank You to Team GB and all the world Olympians who took part in waking us up and changing our world! They demonstrated many qualities and attitudes we learn about when we embark on our own personal Yogic Journey of Transformation.

I invite you all to beat the Post Olympic Depression by trying a Yoga class here at Inner Sanctum - as I say Get Fit, Flexible and Have Fun - Get the Feel Good Factor! You will be pleasantly surprised at the results.

I strive to create a safe, intimate space here bringing people together in a small Yogic community - come and join us!

Also within your own personal world - home and work -  keep up that sense of Community and Connection that the Olympics Fever began. Let the momentum continue and lets build on it together - a new world!

Om Shanti
